FLIGHT MANAGEMENT / DIRECT GEOREFERENCING

UltraNav v7

At every stage of flight,
you are in control.

Combine planning, navigation and precise positioning in UltraCam aerial mapping projects. UltraNav v7 provides an integrated workflow from office mission preparation to post-flight evaluation.

3D

Terrain-based planning

Evaluate coverage and image overlap using elevation data.

2 displays

Pilot and operator

Separate views for navigation and quality control.

GNSS/INS

Direct georeferencing

Process position and orientation data together.

3 classes

Flexible IMU selection

310, 510 and 610 performance options.

INTEGRATED WORKFLOW

Plan. Fly. Process.

Three complementary components linking mission preparation, data capture and GNSS/INS processing.

01 / PLANNING

A plan that starts with the terrain.

TOPOFLIGHT MISSIONPLANNER

Prepare flight lines on a digital terrain model; check GSD and overlap before flight.

02 / DATA CAPTURE

Live monitoring in the air.

TOPOFLIGHT NAVIGATOR

While the pilot follows the route, the operator monitors sensor status and captures. The team tracks mission progress.

03 / POST-PROCESSING

Precise positioning for your data.

APPLANIX POSPac

Combine GNSS and IMU records to calculate image positions and orientations.

01 / TOPOFLIGHT MISSIONPLANNER

More detail
a clear flight plan.

Include terrain elevation in your plan, from mountains to deep valleys. Assess project requirements with pre-flight quality maps.

  • GSD, forward and side-overlap checks.
  • Include nadir and oblique sensors in planning.
  • Work with SRTM or your own terrain model.
  • Flight-line statistics and cost planning.

02 / TOPOFLIGHT NAVIGATOR

One mission.
Two perspectives.

Flight guidance for the pilot, data quality for the operator. Separate display content helps each user focus on their task.

Mission and route monitoring

Flown lines, image status and mission updates are shared between office and flight teams through TFX status files.

In-flight quality control

Monitor sensor status and capture progress. Use simulation mode for pre-flight training and basic sensor-connection tests.

03 / APPLANIX POSPac

Position and orientation
for every image.

POSPac provides direct georeferencing by processing GNSS and inertial measurements captured in flight together.

  • Precise flight trajectory and orientation calculation.
  • Post-processing without a base station using IN-Fusion+ PP-RTX.
  • Reduce ionospheric scintillation effects with IonoGuard.
  • Batch processing and optional camera quality-control tools.

PP-RTX accuracy depends on GNSS data quality, recording duration and regional coverage. The relevant service subscription is acquired separately.

HARDWARE INTEGRATION WITH ULTRACAM

Compact design.
An organised installation.

The IMU and UltraNav module are housed inside the UltraCam sensor head. On fourth-generation UltraCam systems, the top service cover enables field access and replacement of these components.

Hardware and IMU selection are assessed alongside the UltraCam model and project requirements.
